Testimony of a girl participating to an Awareness Session hold in Martil :
“Through the awareness session organized by Droits & Justice, I’m convinced that none of us would like to jump into experiencing marriage under the age of 18. The first victim of this phenomenon is the girl from whom childhood is robbed for men’s sexual satisfaction, which exposes her to major dangers. “
Testimony of a minor girl :
“As the little girl is still growing, she is suddenly being dressed in her wedding dress and pushed to marry an older man with whom she is in the obligation to have sexual relations. The majority of victims resist so long as they can until they lose their strength. I’m against child marriage because we have to make our dreams come true and to continue our studies.”
Testimony of a woman victim of child marriage :
“Our society is still unaware of how dangerous child marriage is. I’ve been victim of child marriage and I do not wish this to anyone. I call out on every woman to oppose some men’s attitude as well as some of our regressive traditions and practices, and to protect themselves and their daughters.”
Testimony of a woman :
“If you want to prevent the phenomenon of child marriage, the State has to provide schools, hospitals and provide a financial help for our girls because the marginalization combined with the poverty that we are experiencing contribute to child marriage.”
